Visitors enjoy free RAM (441 Main Street) admission and extended hours from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on First Friday, November 2. Over the last few weeks, many of the light-sensitive artworks in the current exhibition series honoring collector Karen Johnson Boyd (1924-2016) have been replaced with other pieces she donated. In the largest gallery, Honoring Karen Johnson Boyd: Collecting In-Depth at Home and at RAM gains added dimension by exchanging 17 baskets, wall pieces, and sculptures for works of similar sizes. Large and small-scale figurative works on paper have been traded out for large abstract compositions in Honoring Karen Johnson Boyd: A Multi-Dimensional Approach, which echoes both Mrs. Boyd’s and RAM’s approach to juxtaposing images and objects. In the Windows on Fifth Gallery, Raise Your Glass (Goblets) features over 100 glass goblets donated to RAM by Alan and Barbara Boroff and the Kohler Foundation, Inc. Beer and wine will be available for purchase during evening hours. Drop in to create free homemade tree ornaments from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. The Museum Store invites artists of all ages to then enter their festive masterpieces in RAM’s handmade holiday ornament competition: The Art of AdORNAMENTS, Wrappins’ and Greetins’.
