Celebrate a Summer Night during Downtown Racine’s First Friday September 2nd from 4-9pm!
Socialize with friends and neighbors as you enjoy shopping, cool drinks and live music on Monument Square at Main & 6th Streets. Join 50 independent downtown business owners as they welcome you to shop local, dine & discover the best of Racine . . . Downtown!
Take a horse drawn carriage ride or stroll throughout the historic city streets and listen to the sounds of Identity Crisis at Monument Square and singer Paul Kaye stomping the blues and ragtime too at Main Street’s Crosswalk Park between 3rd & 4th Streets. Wander to the west end of 6th Street and you’ll find Matthew Haeffel performing at Paul Harris Plaza, near the roundabout!
Come early & stay late! Downtown Racine has been a shopping destination since 1860 . . . Downtown Racine is the place to see, the place to be!
If you value a big event in a historic downtown, First Fridays is worth the drive! First Fridays is a group of small business owners of boutique shops, restuarants, art galleries and museums who have worked together to put this event on nine times a year for 12 years. We all stay open late, put live music outdoors in 3 parks, have horse & carriage rides and an outdoor beer garden. The art galleries will offer an artist's demonstration, the restaurants will offer a special and the boutiques will introduce a new or a favorite product line. The sidewalks are filled with people and downtown is alive and vibrant.
In addition to First Fridays, downtown Racine is on the shores of Lake Michigan next to our beautiful, filled almost to capacity marina, near the beach, zoo, Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and SC Johnson sites.
We invite you to take the drive. Most of the shops are run by the owners. No one cares more about the customer than a business owner. You are assured good service from the businesses and to be surrounded by happy people enjoying a great Wisconsin summer evening!
